At our College we foster a culture that encourages and promotes young
people to discover their leadership potential and develop the skills to
become the change they want to be. Formal and informal leadership
opportunities are offered to students from Years 7 to Year 12.
Student Leadership enables students to gain valuable leadership
experience, grow in confidence, become responsible citizens and positive
role models for others within the College and wider community. Salesian
College Student Leaders are called to be active participants in, and
share the responsibility for, the life of the College.
As part of a leadership team, each individual is challenged to:
- provide a Community that fosters an atmosphere of joy and optimism
- foster engagement in Learning for which we are collectively responsible
- encourage pursuit of Excellence in all aspects of life
- be inspired by our Faith, to serve others and develop as resilient, thoughtful and caring citizens of the world.
Leadership at the College is built on the development of strong
and respectful relationships between people. Being a leader means being
authentic and striving to be positive and genuine in all we do.
It requires us to be present in the lives of others and to strive to
be good role models always. Being a role model is not a trivial
exercise; it means striving always to do, and to be, one’s best;
volunteering when others don’t and speaking up for someone or something
important, when perhaps it’s easier not to. It means noticing those
alone or in need and reaching out in some way.

leader is a genuine commitment to service and compassion, to helping and
inspiring others to grow and to bringing peace and hope in the lives of
others.
Student Leadership Program
The Student Leaders are a representative group of students from the
total student population and is led by the two College Captains. Each
campus has two Campus Captains, 16 House Captains and 16 Student Action
Teams Leaders (SAT). SAT areas are:
- Sport
- Arts
- Learning
- Languages
- Agriculture
- Sacred Earth
- Justice and Faith
- Technology
